2nd SystemsX.ch Modelling and Theory Workshop

One major requirement for successful proposals in the 6th call is to integrate modeling to foster e.g. understanding of biological processes. The workshop aims at explaining the modeling community the opportunities to join SystemsX.ch, and to outline possible needs and requirements the SystemsX.ch community might have.

The workshop will take place on June 19 or 22 depending on the results of the doodle poll. Please refer to the invitation for further information and for the link to the doodle poll.

6th Call for Proposals

SystemsX.ch, the Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology, is issuing its 6th Call for Proposals. Please click on the image to view the call.

The focus of the present call is on:

1. Research, Technology and Development Projects (RTD projects) lasting 4 years.

2. Transfer Projects to the private sector lasting up to 2 years with the possibility to add a third year.

Deadlines:
Submission deadline for the proposals of this 6th call is 26 August 2012. The SNSF review panel will convene on 18-19 October 2012. Main applicants may be invited to present their proposal and discuss it with the SNSF panel.

Please note that there will be regional information events for the 6th call for proposals in June!

SystemsX.ch-Projekt macht Schlagzeilen

Forscher des Instituts für Pflanzenwissenschaften der Universität Bern haben einen neuen Mechanismus beim Pflanzenwachstum entdeckt. Dank dieser Arbeit konnte gezeigt werden, dass die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Zellen eine zentrale Rolle im Pflanzenwachstum spielen. Das Projekt ist ein Musterbeispiel für interdisziplinäre Forschung im Bereich der Systembiologie und innovative Projekte, die dank SystemsX.ch initiiert werden.

International Conference on Systems Biology of Human Disease

The International Conference on Systems Biology of Human Disease (SBHD 2012) takes place on May 2-4 in Heidelberg. The SBHD 2012 is continuing a conference series launched some years ago at Harvard Medical School and has developed into a transatlantic event and communication platform for scientific exchange between The United States and Germany.
